INSULATION
Spraying insulation is done by a specialty subcontractor. Sprayed foam is the best insulation currently in use, far better performing than fiberglass batts. Foam seals the irregularities and gaps very well, and these walls have a much better insulating value. The entire house project on the 2nd page of this site and at the bottom here, was insulated entirely with sprayed foam, and was certified by the EPA's regional certification agency as an Energy Star Home. It's blower door test showed an incredibly low rating of 0.21 air changes per hour. We included controlled ventilation through the house, and the owners report that it performs extremely well.
